The Blues Club Revival
Remembering Dutch Tilders
The Blues Club Revival celebrates the music of Aussie blues legend Dutch Tilders and features original members of Dutch’s dynamic combo The Blues Club reuniting to pay tribute to their great friend and mentor.
Drummer Winston Galea and guitarist Geoff Achison spent several years on the road with Dutch, backing him up superbly in The Blues Club. Bassist Peter Beulke, who worked with Tilders in his Bluesicians, completes the revitalised line-up.
Dutch’s innate ability for delivering authentic blues music is revered all over Australia having recorded several classic Oz blues albums and touring the length and breadth of the country for half a century. He and the band are remembered fondly for their countless festival appearances and legendary hometown residencies at the Windsor Castle, Red House and Station Tavern.
With Achison taking on vocal duties, the trio get together and re-visit some of the songs and arrangements they used to play with the man they called the Blues Master General.
Whilst each musician has gone on to other musical pursuits, they all count their time working with Dutch Tilders as pivotal in their learning experience. “We love his music and of course we all miss him being around. This is simply the best way we know how to keep the faith and remember our old mate.”
