Kent Burnside was born into the blues. He hails from Holly Springs, Mississippi, as the oldest Grandson and pupil of blues legend, R.L. Burnside. His playing dots the globe and the style is unlike any other type of blues: dark, hypnotic, and inviting... and very dance-able.
November 2019 sees Kent taking a tour down south, all the way down south to Australia for the first time. Performing at Queenscliff Music Festival and Mullum Music Festival, there will be only one side show in Melbourne at the Fyrefly. He says he's looking forward to meeting a kangaroo and bringing a real Juke Joint party with him.
Opening the night will be Melbourne locals The New Savages, who draw their music from the Mississippi Hill Country where Kent grew up in. On Friday, November 22nd it's a very special night and the Fyrefly will become an authentic Mississippi Juke Joint for just one night - so don't miss out.
